Créneau carrefour jeunesse

Who is it for?

Young people between 15 and 35 years old who live in Saint-Lambert, LeMoyne or Greenfield Park.

Why?

Encouraging young people to be more involved and engaged in their communities.

How?

The Créneau carrefour jeunesse is divided into two main categories:

SHOOL PERSEVERANCE AND AUTONOMY

School perseverance

The direct service School perseverance encourages young people to stay in school or to return to school. We support young people who are at risk of dropping out of school, or those who have been out of school for less than six months and wish to return to school.

In addition to individual follow-ups, we can develop projects in high schools that have the goal of increasing motivation to go to school or creating an environment that is more favorable to learning (examples: extracurricular activities, carpentry workshops, meditation/yoga sessions, video game club, etc.)

Personal and social autonomy

The Personal and Social Autonomy direct service promotes the development of skills and behaviors that contribute to the development of personal and social independence.

Therefore, we support young people who have difficulty integrating into their environment, whether for psychological, physiological or other reasons (e.g. mental health problems, feelings of exclusion, language barriers, physical disabilities, lack of organization, etc.).

We guide them through steps that will enable them to acquire the skills to be self-sufficient on a personal, social and professional level.

PROJECT DECELOPMENT

Volunteering

The development of volunteer projects is intended for young adults (18 to 35 years old). It is designed to implement projects that will be useful to the community, while allowing young people like you to take ownership of local issues.

We provide support and funding for the development of volunteer projects. Participants in these projects receive a financial allowance and we refund the costs related to the purchase of materials, registration in training courses useful for the development of the project, as well as the necessary travel expenses.

Volunteering and entrepreneurship

The development of volunteer and entrepreneurial projects is done in the four public high schools located on our territory (Centennial Regional High School, École secondaire de l’Agora, École secondaire Saint-Edmond, Saint-Lambert International High School).

The development of volunteer projects is intended to increase the number of opportunities for you to get involved in your community through the creation of volunteer projects.

The entrepreneurship program is designed to create as many opportunities as possible to participate in entrepreneurial projects that will allow you to explore your potential and have concrete experiences that will contribute to the development of your entrepreneurial culture.

What are we often asked?

Can I meet with someone, even if I don't know exactly what I want to do as a project?

Yes, absolutely! The person can help you develop a project idea.

Can I participate in a project if I am not of age?

Yes, as long as most of the participants in the project are of the required age. It must still be a youth project.

Can I participate in a project even if I don't live in the territory (LeMoyne, Saint-Lambert or Greenfield Park)?

If it is a student attending one of the four public high schools on our territory, yes, no problem. Otherwise, there are Carrefours jeunesse-emploi all over Quebec and we can help you get to the right place, or even consider projects done in collaboration with other organisms.

What kind of project can I do?

The themes are varied: environment, social issues, art, music, sports, etc. This is your project! We want you to work on something you’re passionate about. The important thing is to have a positive impact on the community.
