Who is it for?

People aged 35 and over residing in the agglomeration of Longueuil who have become disconnected from the labour market, are unemployed, in precarious employment or in part-time employment. They are questioning their professional future, want to orient themselves or reorient themselves, wish to validate a career choice or do a skills evaluation.

To benefit from free personalized support that allows you to determine a professional goal that fits your reality and your needs, and that favors integration into the job market and maintaining a job that suits you.

How?

With one of our employment counsellors, you can benefit from individual sessions over a period of up to three months. Our counsellors build a personalized action plan adapted to your situation. This plan can include job search support and advice such as :

  • Personal :
    • Self-awareness and self-esteem;
    • Referrals to different resources (psychological support, addiction assistance, domestic violence assistance, food assistance, collective kitchens, social or cultural activities, etc.)
    • Support in finding housing;
    • Assistance in getting identity documents;
    • Conflict management;
    • Personal organization;
    • Support in budget management and personal finances;
    • Etc.
  • Professional :
    • Resume and cover letter writing;
    • Interview preparation;
    • Assistance in targeting potential employers;
    • Support in the organization of your job search;
    • Help in finding a volunteer activity or an internship;
    • Academic and professional information;
    • Assistance in adapting to new technological job search tools, such as registering on job sites, updating your LinkedIn profile, videoconference interviews, etc;
    • Direct access to job offers in our sector;
    • Information on various programs offered by Services Québec and other partners (PAMT, PRIIME, Wage Subsidy, RAC, CNESST, etc.);
    • Consultation with a guidance counsellor;
    • Follow-up for job retention;
    • Moral and technical support;

What are we often asked?

Do you pay for training?

No, we do not pay for training. However, we do offer orientation services to help you clarify your professional goal and support you in your plan to return to school.

We can also provide you with information on the different professions and training programs (preliminary requirements, required profile, future perspectives, etc.).

How long will it take me to find a job?

The time it takes to find a job varies from one person to another. It depends on several factors, including the type of job you are looking for, the conditions required, the experience and qualifications of the person looking for a job, the involvement of the person in the job search, etc.

We can help you establish a clear and realistic professional goal, give you advice, support you in making your job search more effective and in targeting potential employers, and provide you with technical, moral or other support to help you find a gratifying job as soon as possible.
